Analisa S. Care Companion in Commerce City, CO 80022

My name is Analisa I am a mother of 2 kiddos ages 6 and 4, boy and girl. I have never been employed as a care companion, but I do have alot of experience, as I took care of my grandma until the day she passed away in hospice at home. She was 91 years old, and this was 3 years ago, which she passed away in June. Sadly, it wasn't a fun experience and it's something I'll never forget, but I did learn a lot from the hospice doctor who was on call every day. Before my grandma got sick, which was oddly unexpected since she was as healthy as could be, I used to help her get in the shower, cooked her breakfast, and lunch. Also did puzzles with her, watched price is right. Made sure she was taking her vitamins and drinking water on a daily. Then she got to where she was more hands on and needed to use a walker, and when out and about she would use her motor scooter. I would have to help her put on her clothes in the morning, socks, shoes. After a while when she was put on hospice, I would help her wash her face, feed her, comb her hair, I had to bathe her this time. When she had accidents, I would change her diaper, clean her up and wash her clothes in hot water asap. When she was on her final days, I helped with everything, from switching her every once in a while so she wouldn't get bed sores, hand bathed her with a wet wash cloth and made sure she was always clean and dry. Gave her ice chips so her mouth wouldn't get chapped and she wouldn't get cotton mouth. Kept her warm, and sang to her. Put her favorite country on. When she passed I stood by her side and never let go. I love the fact we were so close and I got to experience this kind of situation, so I can help someone else take care of their mother, or grandmother. I have patience, a good heart and I love the elderly, I love to make people laugh and I love to cook.
