I do not have paid experience as a caregiver but this is a job that I would be excellent at. I have superior people skills and can meet clients where they are at, wherever this is. I am a former middle school counselor and have passed through background checks with the Colorado Bureau of Investigation. I would be good at talking with clients, doing craft projects with them, getting them outside to tour the grounds of where they are living, and offering emotional support. I use to work as an activity director at Autumn Heights Nursing Home in Denver. From this experience I feel I know what to expect from elderly clients and could be of assistance to increase their quality of life. My sister was in a horrible auto accident and spent months in a nursing home. From this experience I know how to work with the nursing home staff to help get your loved ones needs met. I would not hesitate to call you if I found something to be unacceptable in the care they were getting at the facility. I do know that clients who have family members stop by and check in on them are taken better care of than those who receive no visitors.
