I've worked for 2 home care facilities and also assisted my own grandmother when she had some health issues. 12 years ago, I had a few clients in Iowa. I would help with meals and getting ready for bed and shopping. Currently, I have the career of teaching ESL to adults, but I took some time off from November 2013 to July 2015 when I worked with multiple clients of various needs. I've worked on rehabilitation after a stroke (with the help of an occupational therapist), personal care, home cleaning, errands, preparing meals, computer assistance, dog walking, visiting, etc. I'm very patient with clients and have had a lot who were at various stages of Alzheimer's or dementia. I've also been through some trainings through my last job, Touching Hearts at Home, including safety and aging. I'm also comfortable with hospice care and believe the person should be comfortable and safe at all times.
I know that finding someone trustworthy to be alone with someone you love is hard to find. I'm naturally a very sensitive person which is a characteristic I believe is needed in this line of work. I can meet with you and provide as many references as you need.
