About Me:
I am quite the compassionate, nurturing caregiver and companion. I enjoy responding and caring for others needs before my own. I believe that is a natural ability that I possess and am truly grateful for. There are no "ifs, ands or buts" concerning my care for another!
I have been through a lifetime of caring for people, whether it be family, friends or complete strangers. I take the time to understand their needs; medically, mentally and physically. I also take the time to research their needs via interaction for each person as their own individual.
I know that someday I may need a caregiver/companion, therefore learning and understanding the overall aspect of a life and all of it's surroundings make me strive to be that companion! I am proud to say that I enjoy companionship and all that it entails.
My Overall Experience:
During my lifetime, I have endured many tragic encounters and have helped with the success and care of each one. I have been the "go to" person with all family members events. Some Examples:
My Father (74yrs young) recently (2014-2015) had a traumatic brain injury. I took the lead role in finding him the right care, asking all the questions and making sure that he was comfortable in his surroundings, as he did not know where/who he was. He has since recovered almost 100%!
I was a private duty Companion/Caregiver for a beautiful woman with late stage Alzheimer's disease. I cared for her 12hrs (6pm-6am) 3-4x per week. I was told that she was a "difficult patient" by her family. I met her and I did not find her difficult at all, she was quite pleasant and even at times not but I researched and understood what her disease entailed. Yes, she had her quirks and physical limitations but it was nothing that I couldn't handle. We were quite happy as companions. I patiently helped her re-direct her focus from the past if she was ready to leave. I also listened to her past stories and enjoyed them! I do not ever judge a book by it's cover, there is always a spark of light inside each one of us.
I can tell many other scenarios as to why I am a wonderful, kind and patient Caregiver/Companion but I don't think I have enough room on here. All in all, I listen to my heart, my instinct and do my patient research. I would and will provide a comfortable environment for any individual that just needs someone to care for them!
