Hello, my name is Giovanni. I am currently a Nursing student. I have 5+ years of experience in mental health and disability care, with a very heavy focus in Autism Spectrum Disorder. I worked as a Mental Health Worker at St. Vincent’s Behavioral Health Center from 2021-2025 on the adult psychiatric unit. I also floated and worked over time on the child and adolescent psychiatric unit, with children aged 6 and up. I took care of people with a variety of conditions including all types of mental health disorders, all types of disabilities, especially Autism Spectrum Disorder. After this, I began working at Cortica Care as a Behavioral Interventionist. While doing this, I was able to get certified as a Board Certified Autism Technician (BCAT). At Cortica, I work with children ages 5-15. I have experience in therapeutic communication, situational awareness, safety, and holistic care. Prior to this, I was in the Army- I have medical and trauma care experience. I am CPR and First Aid certified. I am able to adapt to different environments and situations easily. I am able to plan activities and provide companionship. I enjoy what I do and I plan on one day opening my own practice to help children and adults with disabilities.
