Claudia N. Care Companion in Washington, DC 20005

Hello! Thanks for your interest in my profile. My name is Claudia but I go by Viviana, my middle name. I'm a masters degree student at SAIS and now that the summer is practically here I'm looking for a Care Companion job.
I have no professional experience in this sphere but I did take care of my 83 year-old grandpa who passed recently. He taught me to be empathic towards aged people and how this can sometimes feel hard and lonely. I have great respect for the elder, I am patient, a very good listener and warm. I have also taken care several elder aunts, coming from a latin family this has been part of my culture and more than a burden, a way to be grateful and give back.
While in undergradschool I did voluntary work visiting assisted living facilities.

I also have experience of occassionally taking care of my cousing with down syndrome, she is almost fully independent so my companionship consited overall in doing crafts, story telling, taking walks, baking, listening to music and dancing and finding new ways of entertaining.

If given the opportunity I'd like to work as a care companion for you and your beloved ones since besides being a side gig, this is something I truly enjoy and a good learning source for me.
