I am a single mother of 3 grown boys and now I am raising my dog which is a boxer mix that is 50+ lbs. I am used to handling a larger dog so taking care of her dog wouldn't be a problem. I am a smoker, however, I don't even smoke in my own home. I am very respectful of others homes and cars.

I do not have any specialized training or certifications, however, I did take care of my grandmother for a 4 month period, prior to her passing. She had a partial amputation of her foot and a broken leg which made it necessary to provide assistance in getting to the bathroom as well as cleaning her. I had to do her shopping/cooking and assist her in feeding herself. She eventually became totally bedridden and I was able to perform her bathing needs, change the bed linen and her clothing, while she was still in the bed. She was diabetic so I had to monitor her blood sugar levels and calculate and administer her insulin. I also made sure that she took her other medications, when they were scheduled. She had a colostomy bag which I changed, when necessary, since she was unable to do so herself.

I feel with this experience I am capable of companion care as well as caring for her dog.
