I'm a CNA, 59 years young, physically fit and a caregiver by nature. I'm triple vaccinated and I don't drink or smoke. I'm very responsible, constantly assessing safety in all situations, determined that nothing is going to happen on my watch. I have a calm demeanor and I love making people laugh.

Prior to becoming a CNA, I helped care for my Mother for 5 years after she fell at the age of 76 and suffered a serious brain injury. She was functionally cognitive, but still needed 24-hour care and was placed in a nursing home. Whenever I visited her, she was often a sad, smelly mess, slumped in her wheelchair. I'd give her a shower, shampoo, trim and style her hair, shave her legs, and file her nails. Then I'd dress her up in something pretty and put makeup and jewelry on her. I'd wheel her around the nursing home and her confidence level soared from all the compliments she received from the other residents and staff.

During my visits, I always checked her for wounds and signs of illness. Of course I was not paid, but the amount of experience I gained during those five years just being in a nursing home environment gave me a good base of knowledge as a caregiver.

During CNA school, I worked on a Dementia ward at a long term care facility. The care the residents needed was much more involved. I quickly grew attached to my patients and I still think of them and miss them.

I also love babies, children and animals. I'm an artist and I gave private art lessons to a 12 girl with Aspergers Syndrome for a year when I lived in Virginia. It was very challenging and taught me patience on a whole new level.

I'm as responsible with pets as I am with humans. I'm a life long cat and dog mom and have no problem being around and caring for multiple animals. I was a volunteer adoption coordinator, cat cuddler and dog walker at a no kill animal shelter in Virginia.

CNA is a second career for me. My previous
career was in office administration and accounting.

I will be temporarily living in Brandon, Florida (just east of Tampa) from January to March, 2022. My hope is to work 12-20 hours a week while I'm in Florida, as a CNA, Home Caregiver, or baby sitter. My hourly rate is negotiable.
