I have no medical schooling. I was privately hired for a year to take care of an elderly woman who was confined to her bed. She was very sweet, it was very rewarding. I fed her, made sure she was comfortable, read to her, talked with her, listened to her stories, gave her medications, took her to her doctors appointments, bathed her, dressed her, changed her diapers, and just basically kept her company. It didn't not feel like a job to me. I thoroughly enjoyed her company as well. I was just happy to keep her happy and entertained. Taking care of "Mamma Kathy" was one of the most rewarding "jobs" I have ever had. I dearly miss her.
