I have been taking care of my senior veteran retiree father who suffers from rib and shoulder injuries as well as COPD, PTSD, Anxiety, slight memory issues as well as hearing impairment. He has lived with me since 2020 in Clearwater, FL but as of July 2022 his conditions have worsened. He is now on oxygen at all times and sleeps with an astral ventilator at night time. While I have no professional training or certifications, as of late I am considering pursuing a career in licensed home care. Seeing my father struggle made me realize how important it is to have someone that can help take care of a loved one because so many people are not as fortunate in having someone to care for them if insurance does not cover.

Duties I have been responsible for are as follows:
- Transport to/from Dr. appointments
- Actively exercising health proxy responsibilities by sitting in with all medical appointments & inquiring for things he may not realize to ask
- Paying monthly/medical bills
- Bookkeeping/filing his documents
- Managing his savings/pension/SS
- House work; cleaning, laundry, cooking & grocery shopping
- Overseeing his medications & distributing as prescribed
- Monitoring & maintaining his medical equipment
- Reading & logging blood oxygen levels
