A few years back I was lucky enough to help look after an older gentleman (in his 90's) while his full time caregiver took a leave of absence, for about 6-10 months.
I was tasked with doing laundry, cleaning the home, taking him to appointments, grocery shopping, running errands, meal preparation, and keeping him company whenever he felt the need.
It was wonderful to be able to help out and still have him feel very independent. I
