Semi-retired. I live in St. Petersburg but also have a home in New York State, so I will be trying to be gone from April 30 through September 30. I used to work for attorneys in New York City and came to FLorida around retirement time to take care of my elderly father, who has very independent, but now passed away. I would probably pursue law work but I am interested in being a backwards snow bird. I still own my little house in New York and intend to do Daughter For Hire there as well, when I'm there.
I have a masters in fine art and a second BA in creative writing. I make a great companion. I have empathy with older folks who I see needing help, just that little extra so they can remain independent. I have my own car and am in great health. I am not restricted by family at this point and could have a flexible schedule.
I did a lot of errands for my father. We played card games I knew for as long as he was able. I like to help someone read their paper or magazines and will hold light discussions about any topic, always with the goal of uplifting my client and giving them the dignity of opinion and preferences. I'm a great, fast shopper and will go the extra mile to get it right. I will treat my client like I did my father. That means I'll be in touch with other family members or doctors or other help and work with everyone for my client's wishes and needs. If they want to make phone calls but can't hear, I can help listen and repeat for them, the other person's message. I'll help cut through red tape and ease any angst arising from the general stress of accomplishing some tasks. We will part good friends every evening and hopefully my client will have had a great day.

I work a 7 hour day and would expect 1.5 time for overtime after 7 hours. However, if you wanted a weekly rate that included some long hours but only 3 days, for instance, I will work with you for a flat rate. My hourly or daily rates are open and competitive but I rate some by the complexity. We'd talk and everyone will be happy. If I have to travel more than 20 minutes to my job I will ask an extra $10 for that day. I love pets. Have taken care of all. I have a bird, myself.
