I am a retired teacher. I became a care taker after caring for both of my parents. I truly understand the importance of the concerns for the care of a loved one & this is one of the main reasons that I decided to return to school after caring for my parents. Although I made the sacrifices to do this...I remain fully aware and understand that many people are not in a position to care for a loved one. Nevertheless, the well being of their health, physical & mental condition are a priority! In closing I would like to add that when caring for and assisting others in the past, I am mindful to the fact that they are someone's loved one & conduct my service in a caring & professional manner as I would want my lpved one to be treated. I also do not loose focus on the fact that the person in my care may not be in the best place physically, mentally and/or socially. Therefore, I do my best to bring as much comfort to this person in regards to the fact that they are mainly affected by their condition and I am patient and considerate while caring for each persons that are untrusted in my care.
