My name is Madison, and I like to think I’ve been a caregiver all my life. I’ve always enjoyed caring for people. It started with my little brothers and cousins; I was definitely the family babysitter. I’ve also been a caregiver career-wise for over a year now. I started at Sumter Retirement Village in September of 2018. I was there for about 8 months before I left and went to a daycare in leesburg. I was at the daycare for about two weeks before they gave me my own class of like 16 three years olds. I enjoyed it. But after two months the commute got to be too hard and I wasn’t getting enough hours, so I went back to the Village in June. I’ve been here ever since. I’m a main lead, I administer medications, make sure my residents are taken care of, and I’m cpr and first aid certified.
