I have recently graduated from Emory University with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and have focused on applying my studies through service work, with a focus on health care. Working as a care provider connects my call to service with my background in psychology.

I believe that my skills, experiences, and interest make me a good fit for this role:

• Content Background: My coursework at Emory, which included extensive reading, lab practice, and research related to psychology, provided me with a relevant skills set for providing quality care. I've had numerous positions that have allowed me to apply my knowledge of behavioral and developmental psychology. I received a "Star of Service" award during college for my work volunteering at Egleston Hospital, Oak Hill Elementary, and Elks Aidmore (a youth crisis center). Volunteering allowed me to apply my knowledge in behavioral psychology to promote the comfort and safety of others. I also applied my coursework in a real-world environment by tutoring children ages 4-14 in various Atlanta public schools with Emory Reads.

• Communication Skills: My liberal arts background and prior work experiences have helped me develop extensive oral and written communication skills that complement the broad-minded problem-solving skills of my psychology background. Working as a Campaign Field Manager and volunteering at a delinquent rehabilitation center also fine-tuned my ability to communicate effectively and support others in team environments.

• Mental Health Interest: I have developed a strong interest in healthcare due to my time at Emory, conversations with mental health professionals, and personal healthcare experiences. This position would allow me to launch a career in the field by expanding my knowledge through the practical application of prior coursework.

The sum of my education, previous experiences, and desire to learn will allow me to deliver quality patient attention and effective responses.
