I have a soft spot for the elderly. I know thats a pretty broad statement but I grew up with older parents.
My mother gave birth to me at 49. What a whirl wind for her I imagine but it gave me differnt perspective on short term love. A few years back when I lost both parents to Cancer. Two months before they passed,I moved home to care for them. My mother had severe dementia and my father battled diabetes for as long as I could remember. Their palitive care was was extreme for months prior... The meds, the doctors and the "dementia" it was all new,but now I know the ins and outs and conquered through it. Going through it in real time taught me so many lessons, ways around and techniques to achieve what needed to be done. I knew deep down no one would care for them as much as me and I had to be there. I have worked with a few families in the past few years, loved every moment of it. Some days we would get out for the house for Mc Donald's and a nice cold Coke while jamming to Elvis, some days we would go through old boxes or have beauty days. I'm here for you and your family because family doesn't always have to be related. Know you will be in good hands!
