M.Ed in counseling. 30 + years experience in geriatric mental health. 2 years experience as a caregiver in an agency. I have had experience in developing programs for persons with dementia and depression. I have facilitated caregiver support groups and provided numerous training sessions for families of clients and professionals who work with them. I believe all people need to feel useful and are able to do so at each level of functioning. I enjoy developing relationships with my clients and watching them excel in their areas of strengths. It is important to encourage independence in activities where my clients have reserves of skills. I have used my patience to foster self esteem and pride as I care for my folks in their environment.
