Hi. My name is Jessica Hudson. I am 37yrs old. I have been a certified nursing assistant for almost 17yrs. I received my training and education at Chestnut Ridge Nursing and Rehab Center in Cumming, Ga. In 2002 I worked there from July 2002 until April 2005 were as I relocated to Florida to help take care of my father-in-law. I worked in Florida at Eden Springs Nursing and Rehab form May 2005 until I relocated to Savannah, Ga. to be close to my step children. After my father in-law moved up to Atlanta with his 4 daughters. I worked at Effingham hospital and Care Center from March 2008-May 2010. I also had a private sitting job. Where I took care of a teenage boy who had phsical disabilities. I would go over to get him off the school bus. While I waited for him to get home I would premake is food for the week. I had to puree it. I cleaned his living space ( sweep, mop ,dust, change bed linen, laundry.) I then got him off the school bus. I would get him out for his wheelchair with a lift system that was installed the ceiling. I would make sure he was clean and dry. Put him on his reclining lovesuit and give him a snack. I would food him dinner, give him a shower and put him to bed. I work with him for a year. My step children had grew up and had their own lives going on. So we decided to move back home because I want my son to be around family like I was growup. We moved back to Cumming in 2010. I went back to Chestnut Ridge were I stayed for the next 5yrs. Until I decided that I wanted to try assisted living. I loved it. The rules with assisted living are different from skilled nursing. Assisted living facility can use medication aides instead of having LPNs pass medications. That's how I got my cma( certified Medication Administer certificate. I love taking care of the eldery. It is like second nature to me. It's just what I do. I have been told that caregiving is my calling. That it takes special people to do what I do. I feel like anyone can do it but doing it well and from the heart are some quailities some people that have seen in my field just don't have.
