I’m 33 years old & a mother of 3. I’ve been doing companion work for about 8 years i started working as an companion in 2009 after I graduated from high school, I received my first official job working for my high school clinical health teacher, working with her 78year old grandmother who then had recently lost her husband and she was diagnosed with dementia I worked for her everyday 7 days a week , took her to her appointments,assisted her with medication, baths,grooming,meals ,laundry and light housework. She was the sweetest lady ever I love her like she was apart of me, she taught me so much about life she showed me my true passion in life. And before she passed away 1/23/2017 she told me to continue to be a blessing for others as I was to her. And every since I’ve been blessed to not just help be a companion to the elderly I also work with the Youth as well . I’ve also worked 8 years as a residential caregiver (house parent) in a group home for teens who struggles with behavioral health problems. I love the job that I do and I give it my all 100%
