Aloha,
I grew up living with my grandmother who had dementia, was a multi-stroke survivor, and used a wheelchair. When my parents were at work, I was her primary caretaker (from ages 14 - 22). I aided with meal prep, medicine dosage, companionship, mobility needs, and assuring safety.

My aunt with Down Syndrome also lived with us. As she aged and was on hospice due to Alzheimer's disease, I moved back home with my parents to provide in-home support. I assisted with feeding, medication delivery, changing, physically moving. It was the most rewarding 7 months of my life, to provide loving care and companionship to someone in their last months of life. I would love to provide this to a non-family member and help make a difference in someone and their family's life.
