Sydney became a go-to sitter while in town over the summer. She promptly and professionally answered her phone both by text and in person EVERY time I reached out to her. She was laid back but firm when needed with our kids (8, 11) and they always had a great time! If they built a fort, Sydney made sure it was put away when we got home. I usually prepped a meal before heading out, but if I asked her to make chicken nuggets and French fries she happily accommodated. Dinner was always cleaned up when we got home for the evening and kids were at the correct stage of bedtime routines. We even went through a hectic mid-summer move that left our kids pretty frustrated with the whole move process. Plus fostering a stray momma cat and 4 kittens over the same period! Through it all Sydney was always reliable, honest, and fun! Often times I find that sitters have a hard time nailing all of those; if they try to hard to be fun, they might not be completely transparent about a fight the kids had or who cleaned up, if they try to hard to be firm- kids don't really want you to hire them again. If a time shifted to a timeframe that would be tight for her, she was honest about what she could accommodate. I felt confident leaving Sydney in charge of caring for our children and wish Sydney was more local to us year -round. We would definitely keep her as a primary sitter!
