Teresita G. Care Companion in Chicago, IL 60614

My name is Teresita Gomez. Honestly speaking, my experience with caregiving and companionship comes from a personal standpoint. My mother in law battled Alzheimer’s and I was her caregiver for almost a year before we had to make the decision to put her in a nursing home. I bathed her, dressed her and helped her with personal care. At the same time I sit with her and read, danced and played with manual things to keep her able and alert.

I also assisted my grandmother with daily care and companisionhip on a daily for she lived downstairs from me for many years.

I currently am a companion to my own mother who I owe all that I am to and it’s a pleasure to be there for her s she was for me.

I recently became unemployed due to layoffs at my workplace (DePaul University) where I have worked for 27 years.

I am open to challenging myself to something new and I know I love to be with senior citizens for I have been around them most of my life.

I don’t have training or certifications but I can provide recommendations upon request from my previous employer.
