I've worked with seniors for many years, including at the height of the pandemic in a nursing home.
Seniors have given graciously throughout their lives and deserve the same in return. Oftentimes, adult children of seniors find it difficult to juggle taking care of their own children, work and other obligations while still wanting the best care possible for their parents that they would like to give. I know from personal experience that it isn't an easy task entrusting the well being of your convalescing parents in the hands of another individual; if it's the right fit, you'll know instinctively.
Rather than simply seeing impediments, I enjoy the stories, experiences and at times, the humor of the seniors in my care. I get a sense of satisfaction by improving the quality of seniors lives/ and sometimes health, all while building a rapport with seniors (and their families alike) as I step in to "ease the burden" of caring for our once active parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles.
