Hello! I would love to be considered for opportunities as a caregiver for the elderly, chronically ill or disabled, or for older children.

I have worked in hospital settings and volunteered with long-term care patients in oncology and neurology and emergency units, and completed EMT training as well. I was a philosophy major and former paralegal looking for a different direction now. I care about aging and geriatric issues and would love to branch into caregiving work.

I am very comfortable with companionship, conversation, medication administration/checking, household assistance, and 1:1 watch. You can count on me for being alert to any signs of distress or concerning medical symptoms, and for reliability in handling issues as they arise and keeping you in the loop. I am open to learning anything new in memory care, physical assistance with activities of daily living, specifics of managing different chronic conditions, etc. to best help the client and meet them where they are.

I also have studied and have personal experience in various issues around medical ethics, disability and chronic illness etc. and care about providing a caregiving experience that is supportive and dignity-preserving. I am here to learn from you and from the client about their personal needs and preferences.

I am not physically strong so I would not be well-suited to roles involving turning or moving clients or heavy lifting. Another limitation: I do not drive.

Finally, though I am generally seeking part-time/per diem/respite care positions at the moment, I am not opposed to considering full-time or live-in positions if something arises that is a great fit for everybody.
