I enjoy working with people with a variety of special needs. It is very rewarding for me to help improve the quality of life for people. I have been a caregiver in some capacity most of my life. Whether caring for my my son and now grandchildren, providing childcare for other others, caring for my elderly mother, a man with ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease) and currently a stroke patient, ,it comes naturally to me.,
The training I received caring for the ALS patient came directly from Nurses, Physical Therapists and Occupational therapists. My experience with him spanned more than four years and included transferring, feeding (later with a G-tube), suctioning secretions, bathing and much more,.
My goal is to be able to provide quality care and/or companion care that results in improvement in mobility, comfort, self sufficiency or just peace of mind knowing needs are being met.
