I'm a 42 year old mother of 3 children (ages 20, 19 and 13). I'm currently a part-time nanny for a wonderful family. This May I will return to school part time to finish a healthcare degree. My family enjoys volunteering at the Salvation Army and our church. I enjoy outings with friends and family, reading, crafts, movies, the outdoors, museums, library programs, just making the most out of life in general :)!

My mother who is currently 62 years of age was diagnosed with a debilitating condition approximately 4 years ago at the age of 58. Initially she stayed with me for several months and I provided her care. It made me want to pursue a degree in healthcare. Although she is currently in a skilled nursing facility she comes for extended visits.

A few years ago I went to McHenry County college in pursuit of degree in healthcare (leaning towards Nursing). I obtained my Certified Nursing Assistant Certificate and began the process of my general education requirements and prerequisites. Unfortunately, my husband was laid off of work a couple years ago and I took some time off of school after finishing the semester and went back to work to help out.

Thankfully my husband is employed full-time again and I can resume my academic goals beginning May 2017. However, I enjoy working with children and people so much! It gives me much enjoyment and a sense of purpose and fulfillment so I will continue to work part-time even during this process.
