Jackie O. Care Companion in Pompano Beach, FL 33068

Hello :-)
My name is Jackie amd i am 37 years old. I am now a wife and mother, so taking care of others is a daily part of life.
Growing up, my 93 year old grandmother lived with us for at least 25 years. My mom was her care giver and I was one of my mom's helpers (as needed). As I got older, my grandmother would ask for my help whenever my mom stepped out. And she was very perticular about everything. If it took 4 trips to the kitchen, I did it. I helped her get in and out the shower. Getting dressed. Meals. Medicines and drive her to and from doctors appointments. Because she didn't speak English, I also would translate to Spanish.
My parents are now 78 & 79 years old and require occasional assistance. As active as they are, we have to remind them to take it slow. "We" as I am the youngest of 5 girls & my sisters are more local. I am not living near them yet as we are a military family. When I do visit, I always help them with day-to-day tasks and as a driver for appointments. I consider it simple quality time :-)
Whether it is to appointments, shopping, in the yard, cooking, or just hanging out talking, they are fun to be around. I am always excited to learn new things every time we are together. I truely cherish the limited time we spend together.
I hope providing companion care will also assist me in being better care givers in the future for them.
