I have been teaching middle school aged to high school aged students with multiple physical and mental challenges for 31 years. Many of the students I have worked with over the years are on the spectrum for autism, so I am learning how to help people with autism. Before I became a teacher I worked in a group home with young people that had various levels of mental challenges. I received my BS in Education in 1984 and my masters degree in education in 1996. I plan on retiring at the end of this school year and would like to continue to work with individuals with special needs, but would prefer working in a one-on-one setting, instead of the classroom. I also worked in a nursing home for four years. I know how to do range of motion, I am trained in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention, and I am CPR certified. I like to read, hike, ride my bike, and play board games.
