I am looking for part-time light-duty work. I've been a substitute teacher, raised a daughter, and have a flexible schedule. My last 'sitter' experience was when I was a teenager, but I have been working with people my entire life. I expect to approach any sitting job as a new experience with a new person, which is to say I would build a relationship with you and your child with no great pre-conceptions.
I have a bachelor degree in journalism and German literature, and have more recently (sub) taught in the EVSC, where I often filled in for teachers in the lower-to middle grades. I would be happy to fill you in on all the other jobs I've held, but most of my career jobs would not be relevant to childcare. Currently I work as a cashier at Schnucks in Newburgh and occasionally deliver vehicles for PTI. I would be able to rearrange my schedule to accomodate the days and hours you need me, and return to checking groceries and driving when you are home with your child.
I have no specific training for this position, other than a college course in the psychology of children, and another psychiatry course. I once had water rescue and lifesaving certifications from the Red Cross, but those are expired.
