Recently laid off from my job of nearly 4 years. Just as well, I was getting tired of all the corporate stuff anyway and was ready for a good change.
A while back, I sat with a gentleman for 4 years that had Parkinson's. Cooking, cleaning, appointment etc.---Monday thru Friday. We did everything together--we treated each other like family and respected each other. He had a beautiful home full of hundreds of antiques that he trusted me taking care of.
He is gone now, but I miss the fulfillment that I had by giving this man his freedom to live in his home without him having to worry about anything. I assisted with his finances, taxes, medications, and just about anything you could imagine.
