Premila’s Bio
As the eldest of four, and mother of two children, two dogs and one cat, I have taken care of people my whole life. I was the main caregiver for my mother and best friend as they fought cancer, and was the same for my father as he regained his health after a mysterious illness brought him to the brink.
I know how to be fully present at doctor’s appointments. How to take notes, to ask questions, to remember names and places. I am there to hear what the patient doesn’t always hear. I am there to provide a bit of humor when a laugh is needed, or a moment of silence when words aren’t enough.
My best friend will have died a year ago on January 1st. Along with a friend who is a doctor, I was her greatest advocate. I want to bring that level of commitment to someone who is in need. I know I can be an important part of their life. I know I can bring joy and peace.
