Hi. My name is Jessica Pruitt. I'M a mother of 2 grown/almost grown boys.(age 21&16)I have been a caregiver for approximately 3-4 yrs,give or take. First, I established experience through staying with and helping out with my grandmother and my great aunt.(no longer with us)Then, I gained some what of an experience with working at a nursing home as a housekeeper. You may wonder,how does that compare? Well, I develop relationships with most of the patients/residents that were there. I would see these people every day, and encounter them in some type of a way. Then, I actually became a caregiver for a company called Comfort Keepers for a whole year. Then I was with a company called, Active Day home care for another whole year. So, throughout the past 4 to 5yrs, I've gained different types of experience in this position. Being with my Gramdmother and Aunt is basically what started the who process of being a caregiver also working in the nursing home. Making life long friendship/companionship is just as rewarding as being able to help the ones who need help with day to day activities or with anything they may need or want me to do for them. I like helping others and it makes me feel good bout myself and to do it.
