Hi. My name is Betsy Cranston. Are you in need of someone for senior care? If you are, I am interested in finding out more about that need.
I am a private companion care/ hands-on care provider. I am currently working part-time with a woman residing at a local Assisted Living facility in Northampton, MA. I am looking to increase my cliental. I am available for 4-16 hrs./week and my availability is quite flexible. I provide great companionship and hands-on-care for seniors. I have extensive training and experience working with individuals' living with age related illnesses and dementia. I provide companionship, bathing & dressing (women only), light meal prep, light housekeeping, errands, shopping, medical transportation and transportation for, and accompaniment on, pleasurable outings.
I have worked with seniors for the last 13yrs. in varying capacities. I worked at Rockridge Retirement Community in Northampton in the program services dept. for 6yrs. where I provided leadership, facilitation of programs, & transportation for residents of that community. Then I took a job as the director of the Southampton COA. This administrative role did not suit me well. I missed being in direct contact with the people I was working with and that combined with an illness, caused me to leave my job after only 1 year. After much time spent recovering from severe symptoms of depression and PTSD I worked per diem for the summer in a Memory Care Unit in an assisted living facility located Pittsfield, MA.
Since my illness started I have found individual companionship & care is "where I belong" today. I am passionate about my work in part because of personal life experiences that have left me to live with a chronic illness. Like an individual with age related illnesses or dementia, I too will never be "normal" again. This allows me to see thru an individuals' illness & see them for who they are.
I am professional, empathetic, reliable, respectful and thoughtful in my interactions with others. I also add fun, humor & energy to a seniors' life in order to add to (or create) a life worth living.
