Hello. My name is Holden. I’m a 38 year old male. I had the pleasure of taking care of my very best friend, my mother for four years while she battled advanced heart failure, end stage kidney failure, 3x a week dialysis trips, diabetes & she was insulin dependent so we always checked her blood sugar before every meal. She couldn’t see so I was the one helping her check. She also had endometrial cancer. She had a stroke and acquired aphasia so she understood what was being said to her but she often couldn’t express her words that she wanted to get out. Due to the stroke, she was in a wheelchair full time. Her balance was very poor so I helped her walk, transition to seats, to the car, to the restroom. I do have experience emptying catheters as well (if needed). My mom was on over 60+ medications daily that if you showed me the pill by itself, I could tell you what it was and what it was for. I knew each and every doctor and kept track of each and every appointment. I followed every single dietary restriction to keep her as healthy for as long as I could. I did this daily 24/7 for four years and I lost my mother in November of 2021 just a couple days after Thanksgiving at only 67 years old. My mom was a very warm, kind, loving, sweet and grateful person. She was my best friend in the whole world. I know there are families out there seeking kind, loving people they can trust to help with the people they love and I’m one of those people. I will treat your parent like my own Mother.
