Hi there!
I am currently a Nursing Student at UH Manoa. I will be graduating this December with my RN. I do not have my CNA certification but I am qualified to work CNA positions at this point in my education. I have not had a home health aide position before but through my various clinical rotations I have had experience working with geriatric patients, caring for long term illnesses and acute problems. I have experience administering medication and injections, starting IVs, administering catheters and removing urinary catheters and IVs. I can check blood sugars and administer insulin as needed. I am also qualified to perform wound care and provide companionship to Alzheimer's patients and any other individuals. I have experience working in a neuro/trauma unit where most of my patients required full care. As such I have no qualms about performing basic hygiene care, this includes linen changes, brief changes, bed baths and mouth care. I am qualified to assist with feeding to all patients, including stroke victims as well as provide feedings through feeding tubes, both gastric and nasogastric. I am able to assist with repositioning and transfers. I am able to provide full body assessments as well to ensure continuing health. I am sure there are various things I am forgetting so please ask. I have letters of recommendation I can email you if requested.
