I have a long history of elder care and elder companionship. As a teen I was one of the many cousins that took turns having Nana days. I feel I was the happiest doing this. Cooking for her, walking with her, playing cards and painting. These are some of the greatest memories of my life. After Nana it became my Mother that needed care as she had MS that had progressed later on in her diagnosis. She loved the outdoors so that is what we did. Road trips throughout Dartmouth and Westport MA to find and taste test all the local ice cream and to find that one little adventure spot to have a picnic lunch.Caring for her also consisted of preparing snacks, helping to get dressed administering medication and overseeing her comfort for the day. I am a 56 year old woman, with one 22 year old son looking to continue to have that connection with an elderly person I’m need. I love their stories and love to share mine. This is the second half of my life and I want to enjoy it giving back to others. I’ve had been in Banking for 20 plus years and decided to leave to do something more rewarding for my heart.
