Over the past 6 years I have transported 2 middle schoolers to and from school in separate years, while taking care of my infant granddaughter, and 85 year old mother. Previously I was the primary caregiver to my terminally ill brother. His diagnosis left him with hospice care as his only treatment option. I was the secondary caregiver to two elderly men who had issues with Alzheimer's and dementia. I became a caregiver out of family necessity and loved doing it. Then and now, I feel needed and I can make a difference in others lives by making it a little bit easier for them and their families.
