Hello!

I have been working in senior living since 2023. I worked at 2 senior living facilities: Brandywine Senior Living in Potomac (which has a dementia care village that I worked in) and Friends House (a non-profit with independent living, comprehensive care, a rehab center, and assisted living).

I have a caregiver certification and was trained at both of these senior living facilities on HIPAA compliance. While working here, I was response for looking out for the safety of all residents in the building. I made regular reports about changes or declines in health that I observed to family members. I helped arrange transportation to and from appointments for residents. I helped with mail management, brought and retrieved meals to and from resident rooms, I monitored and responded to emergency healthcare pendant calls, and I did activities with residents to stimulate their thinking and mental acuity, such as initiating exercise, dance, and creative gaming activities.

I was trained on Alzheimer's, dementia, and memory issues, so I did a lot of calming activities with residents like musical activities, walks down memory lane with photos and famous people and moments in history, watching movies together, took residents on walks, and tried to get the residents as socially active and engaged as possible.

I got on Sitter City because I really enjoy working with seniors: They have so much to offer and they are full of knowledge and history, so I can easily have long conversations with them.
