Jodie’s Bio
I was a high school teacher for approximately 10 years. I have one child of my own and a plethora of child care experience in addition to being an adult care giver. Upfront, I will say I have no technical certifications, just a lot of hands on knowledge.
I was a coach during my years of teaching, therefore I had to take a sports injury class. At that point, I was trained in CPR and how to tend properly to a variety of injuries.
Prior to her passing, I was the primary care giver to my mom following a partial organ transplant and three subsequent strokes that left her incapacitated for 6 years. I had to feed, dress, change and help her in and out of her wheelchair. I also had to administer tons of medication, give shots and take care of her feeding tube.
My 4 great loves are taking care of others, reading and music. I would really love to do this type of work. It would be very rewarding to me to be able to give a family some peace knowing their loved one is cared for and in good hands.
