I recently worked with a group of three developmentally disabled adults. My responsibility was to ensure they're life was as normal as yours and mine. I say responsibility because I didn't consider my position a job or work. I provided a service to a large group of individuals who are frequently forgotten about in our community. I scheduled and transported all three to doctor's appointments, and day programs/or work assignments. Arranged outings with friends and family. Assisted with light cooking, cleaning and laundry services. All three gentlemen were on a regimen of psychotropic medications which required me to have a Medication Technician Certificate issued by the Maryland State Board of Nursing.
