After graduating with a Masters in Nutrition and working in both in-patient and out-patient settings, I have been a stay-at-home mother for the past seven years. I love taking care of people and now that my kids are all in school I am looking for the opportunity to help take care of someone else. Throughout my professional career as a Registered Dietitian, a majority of my clients and patients were of the geriatric population. I am a very personable and compassionate person who loves being with people. I find it very rewarding to help someone that needs and appreciates the help. I have recently become a companion for a 68 year old woman who has had a stroke and is residing in an assisted living facility. I take her to doctors appointments, run errands, and tidy up her room. When I was working as a Registered Dietitian my boss was a 75 year old woman and our relationship developed into much more than just a boss and employee relationship. I would spend time with her at her home or take her out to eat or nutrition seminars once she was no longer able to drive. I also have a very special bond with my own parents, and have always enjoyed working with older generations. I know that if I were in the same situation and needed someone for my parents that I would find great comfort in knowing they would have someone like this to call on if/when I was not available. I am available 9:00am to 3:00 pm daily and occasional weeknights if needed. I would enjoy keeping whomever company or running errands, cleaning, cooking meals, or whatever else is desired.
