I am a caregiver by nature. In me lives the patience of Job and the love of God. I have both informal and some formal experience caring for special needs people. I am kind, loving, giving, and extremely patient. I believe every person should be able to live their best life, where they are; and I take the initiative to learn as much as I can about each individual's limitations and abilities.
Until Covid put a halt on everything, I was in the process of opening a VA Family Medical Foster Home in Flint, MI. I had completed 3 of 5 Department of Veteran's Affairs inspections when Covid got bad. My past experience, formal and informal, qualified me to open a patient home with VA. Though my training and experience are informal, here is a list of former patient care:
* Worked in an outpatient home for men with Paranoid Schizophrenia for approx. 1 year.
* Cared for a 73 yo female patient with colon cancer for approx.1 yr, until death.
* Cared for a 74 yo male after cancer surgery for apprx 6 months.
