I took care of my grandmother for the last 5 years of her life, and that is mainly what got me into caregiving. I also took the last two years of high school to mentor special needs children aged 11-19. I light up when I get to see my kids happy and taken care of properly. Finding mentoring, showed me where my passion was. Whether it be giving medication, clothing, helping assist to the restroom, feeding, taking them to bed, or simply reading and playing with any of the people I’ve given care to, I find it to be immensely rewarding as well as comforting in the since of the relationships we built.
