I have 2.5 years of professional experience working with special needs individuals. My love for caring for developmentally/physically disabled individuals started 5 years ago, when my beautiful niece was born with a heart condition called Tetralogy of Fallot. Due to her mother being a full time student, whilst also battling Post-Partum Depression, a lot of responsibility fell onto my sisters and I to aide in caring for my niece everyday after school. From that experience, I was clear on what I wanted to do while in school, and possibly for the rest of my life.
I was referred to a friend of mine to a special needs group home, and started working there August 2017. This home consisted of four young men, with varying disabilities including ; Downs Syndrome, Severe Autism, Severe Mental Retardation, and Disruptive Disorder. Through this occupation, I obtained my Personal Care Assistant certification, as well as my CPR and First Aid certification.

Since then I have gained experience caring for seniors, individuals with Muscular Dystrophy, individuals who are in vegetated states, and paralyzed individuals with Traumatic Brain Injuries.
