I was a live in care giver for a couple years. I enjoyed it very much, don’t get me wrong it’s not all great, but for the most part it’s very rewarding. It makes me feel really good that I can help someone who can no longer do all the things they used to, especially knowing that they appreciate and value me and my time. I have no certification, I was hired by his wife who is now deceased. I’ve given treatments and given him his daily meds. I put him on oxygen and took his levels. I also worked as a dietary aide/ cook for 35 yrs and have had lots of experience with answering call lights and numerous alarms and how to interact with residents. I loved my job very much and was very good at it.
