Mary’s Bio
Some of my best memories is sitting back with .. I will call her Mrs Sunshine.
It was my first day and we had a blast cracking up watching golden girls.
She loved her oatmeal ❤️ We would talk
and she loved to pray 🙏🏼 I would set beside her and read the Bible and I don’t mind getting animated because I wanted her to get the picture of what was taking place. You see she had dementia and I was told she had about four months, but I wanted us to stand and believe for something longer than that. ☺️
I shared with her the story about the woman who struggled many years and spent all her money nothing worked but one day she heard Jesus was coming and she was so weak and there were so many people and they were all trying to touch Him because they heard of the miracles that took place. She didn’t let the crowd keep her from getting to Him
and when the men heard her crying out they told her to be quiet and she got even louder. She believed if she could just touch the hem of His garment she would be healed. She managed to touch it and her issue she suffered with dried up and she was healed. You should the precious sunshine faith. From that day she would say , remember when she touch the hem and I would smile and say yes and she was healed and she would smile. I want to say we got to enjoy more time together talking and watching gunsmoke, Andy Griffith and the Golden Girls for another 6 years despite what her family was told.
I remember she would have a bad day and say a bad word to me and later on she would say she was sorry. I would tell her I know your heart ❤️ It’s okay.
If anyone knows sometimes they can forget and yes have rough days. She went through 3 wash girls and I had a habit of going in there and trying to calm her as they tried to do their job.
I ended up telling her daughter not to put her through more people coming in that I would bath her in bed. I watched and learned and I wouldn’t charge extra. Just didn’t want her stressing.
I cooked her some meals, washed clothes, cleaned and made sure you took her meds at the times they were to be taken. I still keep in touch with her family even though it has been 10 years.
I took care of a couple for two years
They had breakfast, lunch and dinner together. Sometimes I would work day shifts and other times I would get them both to bed and give them their meds and I’d stay the night.
So sweet they would hold hands and watch tv and he loved to talk and she would just sit and listen. ❤️
