I am a retired school teacher who not only has worked with children K-12 grades but also in administration. I hold a master's degree plus 60 hours in higher education.
I cared for both my elderly parents as each grew older. I handled medication, changing of bandages, bathing, home physical therapy and other needs as they arose. I read to them and engaged each in conversations and made calls to old friends in their behalf.
I have cared for and entertained my great nieces and nephews all together as well as in separate groups for about 9 years. Their present ages are 2 and half, 4, 8, two 9s, 10, 12 and 13. I have helped with the teaching of homework, basic learning skills and reading.
With both groups, I have provided housekeeping, cooking and shopping.
I work well with both cats and dogs in addition to caring for their needs.
I'm not offended by changing adult diapers and clean up neither am I skittish of dirty diapers, kitty litter or dog messes. I can settle sibling's confrontations and impose discipline along parental guidelines.
