I have over 25yrs experience working as a caregiver/CNA in nursing home, private home and hospital settings. I've worked with children and adults with a wide-range of mental/emotional/physical needs, which has led me to develop many varied skills in this line of work. I've also been a personal care assistant and home/property/animal caretaker as a small business owner over the years.

I've been the primary caregiver for clients suffering from brain/limb injuries, amputations, blindness, deafness, depression, Autism, Down-Syndrome, different forms of cancer, Dementia, Alzheimers, a stroke, diabetes, severe infections, patients who are bed-bound, as well as in palliative and hospice care.

I am self-driven and able to offer support with everything from critical care needs, to very basic as needed assistance with daily living tasks like dressing, transfers and general day-to-day self-care. I can provide help with transportation to/from doctor appointments, shopping, laundry, preparing meals, etc.

I was certified as a med-tech in the past, so I have direct experience with professional medication administration. And I would be comfortable assisting in that area as needed.

Without being pushy, I am the type of caregiver that encourages clients to sit outside for fresh air or go for a walk if they are able. Perhaps a car drive or visit to a museum or local event on occasions they feel up to it.

I value companionship with my clients and discovering their interests. I can appreciate mundane/intellectual conversation, card/board games, listening to music, reading the paper or books together, gardening, etc.

As a mature middle-aged person whose work has always been in service to others; I am naturally compassionate, down-to-earth, tuned into the needs of others and come with a sense of humor and wit too. In summary; I am skilled at being a respectful friend and caretaker to my clients of all ages and at all life stages.

I've been servicing parts of NC, SC, TN and GA for over 15yrs. I am a homeowner in the Asheville area and have a reliable vehicle.

As a reliable, experienced caregiver my base rate is usually $30/hr depending on hours/needs involved. Don't hesitate to inquire to discuss this piece further based on your needs.
