Maya S. Care Companion in Charlotte, NC 28273

Hello! My name is Maya and I am a graduating Public Health Education major senior from North Carolina Central University. I would describe myself as a free-spirited, loving, organized, and thorough individual who's overall goal is to improve the quality of life for all. My love for nurturing children and ensuring their overall physical, mental, and emotional health developed once I entered college. Since starting school in 2017, I have taken and passed numerous courses on child development and adolescent brain development. I also worked as an Algebra 1/Trigonometry tutor for 2 years along as a Health Fair Coordinator for the youth after school program at the Salvation Army Boys & Girls Club for 3 years. I currently work as a full-time nanny for a private family in Chapel Hill, NC. With my current position I work 8am to 8pm and my duties include guiding my 3 school aged children through their daily school work, laundry, light tidying, preparing breakfast, lunch, and dinner, keeping the children active, running errands for mom and dad and bed-time. Two of my current children do have ADHD so I do have experience with tantrums and how to control them. I love my current work family however I am graduating May 8th and will be relocating to Charlotte where I will be attending graduate school online in the fall. I never worked as a paid care companion. However, I assist my sister on the weekends with caring for my 75 year old grandmother who is not mobile. We love going shopping, nail salon, out for a stroll, and playing card games. I also love cleaning! Hope to speak with you soon!
