I personally took care of my mom who was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and Dementia for 3 yrs in my home before having to place her in a nursing home. It was the most rewarding experience because I spent time with her that I never had the opportunity to do before she got ill. I had to clean, dress, feed, administer meds, keep her diabetes under control and keep her entertained all during Covid lockdown. Patience was required, learned to listen and step into her world of where her mind may have gone at that moment.
